Primary care handles what happens next.

Many people use both. Your primary care provider knows your history and keeps your care on track. Urgent care fills the gaps – evenings, weekends, and days when you cannot wait for an office visit.

 What Is Urgent Care?

Urgent care is walk-in medical treatment for illnesses and injuries that need care soon, but are not emergencies. You do not need an appointment at QUICKmed, and you do not need to be an existing patient.

Common Reasons People Visit QUICKmed Urgent Care

Bad colds, flu symptoms, and sore throats

COVID-19 testing and care

Ear, eye, and sinus infections

Urinary tract infections

Upper respiratory issues and asthma flare-ups

Stomach and digestive problems

Cuts that may need stitches

Minor burns and injuries

Sprains and possible broken bones that are not shifted out of place

Allergic reactions, rashes, animal and insect bites

Vaccinations and immunizations

* Many QUICKmed urgent care centers offer lab testing and X-ray on site, so testing and treatment can often happen in the same visit. (Services vary by site – check your location page before you go.)

What to Bring to a Walk-In Visit:

Driver’s license or photo ID

Insurance information

Payment for your co-pay or self-pay portion

A list of your medications, allergies, and past surgeries

You can save time at the front desk by pre-registering online before you arrive.

Pre-Register at Your Location

 What Is Primary Care?

Primary care is your home base for health. A primary care provider gets to know you, tracks your history, and helps you stay ahead of problems instead of only reacting to them.

Patients who have a primary care provider tend to see better management of chronic conditions, lower overall health care costs, and greater satisfaction with their care.

What Primary Care Covers at QUICKmed

Ongoing (chronic) conditions, such as diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, COPD or asthma, and depression.

Everyday (acute) illnesses, such as sinus infections, coughs, sore throats, rashes, urinary tract infections, and abdominal pain.

Preventive care, including annual wellness visits, age-appropriate screenings and immunizations, and referrals for tests like colonoscopies, mammograms, PAP testing, and PSA screening.

Extra Support for Medicare Patients

QUICKmed Care Management is a program built for our Medicare patients. A care manager checks in between visits, helps you schedule appointments and outside testing, assists with medications, medical supplies, and refills, and builds a care plan around your health goals. The team also offers 24/7 phone access for issues that come up after hours.

Care management is a covered service with most insurances. Call (330) 503-3717 to ask whether you’re eligible.

Note: Primary care is offered at select QUICKmed locations, not all of them. QUICKmed also offers mental health support through telehealth.

Telehealth works well when you mainly need to describe symptoms and talk through next steps. Choose an in-person visit when the problem needs hands-on evaluation, testing, or imaging – like a possible fracture, a wound that may need stitches, or symptoms that require lab work.

Schedule a Telehealth Visit

Where Do Work Injuries and Employer Exams Fit In?

Neither urgent care nor primary care is the right starting point for most work-related needs. Occupational health is a separate service line with its own requirements and paperwork.

QUICKmed’s occupational health team works with employers on workplace injury care, workers’ compensation cases, employer-directed exams, and drug and alcohol testing. If you were hurt on the job, tell the front desk when you arrive so your visit is documented correctly from the start.

Employers can also ask about on-site YOUcare clinics for manufacturing teams and concierge occupational medical services.

Contact Occupational Health Team

Still Not Sure? Did this start recently, and does it need attention today?

Urgent care is a good fit. Walk in, or pre-register first to save time.

3. Is this about a long-term condition, a refill, a screening, or a checkup?

Primary care is the better choice – and if you don’t have a provider yet, this is a good time to establish one.

When you’re between the last two, a walk-in visit is a reasonable place to start. Our providers can treat what’s in front of you and point you toward follow-up care if you need it.

 Why Choose QUICKmed?

Locally owned and operated in Northeast Ohio. – QUICKmed is not a national chain.

Nearly 20 locations, including standalone urgent care centers, occupational health sites, and YOUcare school-based and manufacturing clinics.

Open 7 days a week. Hours vary by location – check yours before you head out.

No appointment needed for walk-in urgent care.

Urgent care and primary care under one organization, so a same-day visit can lead naturally into ongoing care at participating sites.

Lab testing, X-ray, and immunizations available at many locations, which can reduce trips to a separate facility.

Accredited by the Urgent Care Association.

Online pre-registration, telehealth visits, and a patient portal for records and messages.

Your Next Step

If something needs attention today, find the QUICKmed nearest you and pre-register before you walk in.
